protests

Definition

Protests are public demonstrations or gatherings where individuals express their dissent or demand for change regarding social, political, or environmental issues. They serve as a method of political participation outside of traditional voting mechanisms.

Analogy

Think of a protest as a megaphone in a crowded room. Just as a person uses a megaphone to amplify their voice and be heard over the din, protests amplify the voices and concerns of individuals or groups to ensure they are heard by those in power and the broader public.
