Executive dominance

Definition

Executive dominance occurs when the executive branch of government, including presidents or prime ministers, holds more power and influence over legislative processes than the legislative branch itself. This imbalance often leads to a decrease in the legislative branch's ability to effectively check or balance the executive’s decisions and policies.
