Definition

Article III courts are federal courts established under Article III of the U.S. Constitution, which grants them judicial power over matters outlined in the Constitution, including cases arising under federal laws, treaties, and the Constitution itself. They include the Supreme Court, appellate (circuit) courts, and district courts.
