Land use and ownership refers to the ways in which land is utilized and owned within a society. This can include agricultural, residential, commercial, or communal uses.
Think of land use and ownership like a giant game of Monopoly. Different players (individuals or entities) own different properties (land), which they can choose to develop in various ways (residential, commercial etc.).
Private Property: A legal designation for the ownership of property by non-governmental legal entities.
Communal Land: Land that is held in common by a group of people.
Eminent Domain: The power of a government or state to take private property for public use with payment of compensation.
