The Iroquois Tribe, also known as the Haudenosaunee or the Iroquois Confederacy, is a historically significant group of Native American nations located in the northeastern United States and Canada. Comprising six nations—Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, Seneca, and Tuscarora—the Iroquois were known for their sophisticated political structure, democratic principles, and influential role in early American history during European colonization.
