Iroquois Tribe
Definition
The Iroquois Tribe, also known as the Haudenosaunee or Six Nations, is a historically powerful northeast Native American confederacy. They were known for their political organization and influence during colonial times.
Analogy
Think of the Iroquois Tribe like a high school student council. Just as the student council has representatives from each grade who come together to make decisions for the whole school, the Iroquois Confederacy was made up of representatives from different tribes (Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, Seneca and later Tuscarora) who worked together to make decisions that would benefit all.
