Definition

The textile industry involves designing, producing and distributing yarns, cloths or clothing products made from natural or synthetic fibers.

Analogy

Imagine if your school cafeteria not only cooked all its food but also grew its own vegetables and raised its own livestock. That's kind of what the textile industry does - but instead of food products they're dealing with fabrics!
