Diffusion refers to the spread or dissemination of an idea, technology, or cultural practice from one society to another. It involves the transmission and adoption of these elements by different societies.
Think of diffusion like a viral video that starts in one country but quickly spreads to other countries. Just as people share and pass on the video, societies share and adopt ideas or technologies through diffusion.
Cultural Exchange: Cultural exchange is when different societies interact and share their customs, beliefs, and practices with each other.
Acculturation: Acculturation occurs when two cultures come into contact with each other, leading to changes in both cultures as they borrow elements from each other.
Transculturation: Transculturation is a process where two or more cultures interact and merge together over time, resulting in a new hybrid culture.
