Coerced Labor

Definition

Coerced labor refers to a system where workers are forced to work under threat of violence or other forms of punishment. This includes slavery, indentured servitude, and serfdom.

Analogy

Think of coerced labor like being forced to play in a basketball game without any choice or reward. You're not playing because you want to or because you'll get something out of it; you're playing because someone is making you do it.
