Definition
Statistics is the study of collecting, analyzing, interpreting, presenting, and organizing data. It involves using mathematical techniques to make sense of information and draw conclusions.
Analogy
Think of statistics as a detective solving a mystery. The detective collects clues (data), analyzes them using various tools (statistical methods), and presents their findings to solve the case (draw conclusions).
