In psychology, subjects refer to the individuals participating in research studies. They can be volunteers from the general population or specific groups chosen for particular characteristics.
Think of subjects as actors playing roles in a movie. Researchers observe them closely to gather information just like filmmakers capture scenes for their film project.
Control Group: The group within an experiment that does not receive the treatment or intervention being studied, used as a basis of comparison.
Random Sample: A subset of individuals from a larger population chosen in such a way that each member has an equal chance of being included, ensuring representativeness.
Dependent Variable: The variable in an experiment that is measured or observed to determine the effects of the independent variable.
