OCD is a chronic mental health disorder characterized by recurring, unwanted thoughts (obsessions) that lead to repetitive behaviors (compulsions).
Think of OCD as a broken record player in your mind. It keeps playing the same song (obsession) over and over again, and the only way to stop it temporarily is by doing a specific dance move (compulsion).
Anxiety Disorders: A group of mental disorders characterized by significant feelings of anxiety and fear.
Exposure Therapy: A psychological treatment that helps reduce fear and anxiety responses towards phobia, anxiety disorders or PTSD by exposing the person to the source of their fear in a safe environment.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): A type of psychotherapy that helps people identify and change destructive thought patterns that have negative influence on behavior and emotions.
