Lenses and mirrors are optical devices used for manipulating and focusing light. Lenses are transparent objects made from materials with specific refractive properties, while mirrors have reflective surfaces that can produce virtual images.
Imagine using a magnifying glass (a lens) to focus sunlight onto a piece of paper and create fire. Similarly, mirrors can reflect light to create virtual images, like when you see your reflection in a mirror.
Convex Lens: A lens that is thicker at the center and causes parallel light rays to converge.
Concave Mirror: A mirror with a reflective surface that curves inward, causing light rays to diverge.
Focal Length: The distance between the center of a lens or mirror and its focal point.
