Annotations are notes made on a text while reading it. They can include underlining important passages, highlighting key ideas, writing comments or questions in margins, and making connections between different parts of the text.
Think of annotations as your personal conversation with a book. Just like how you might jot down thoughts or underline important points when discussing a topic with a friend, annotations allow you to engage in a dialogue with the text and make it your own.
Marginalia: Notes or comments written in the margins of a text.
Paraphrasing: Restating someone else's ideas or words using your own language.
Active Reading: Engaging with the text by asking questions, making predictions, and reflecting on what you're reading.
