Timber is essentially another term for wood whether standing (as trees), felled, or processed into lumber. It is used for construction purposes.
Timber is like the 'raw material' in a factory production line. Just as raw cotton is spun into thread and then woven into fabric, timber (the raw material) is processed to create lumber (the finished product).
Sustainable Forestry: This refers to the practice of managing forest resources in a way that meets the needs of the present without compromising future generations' ability to use those resources.
Logging: The process of cutting down trees for timber.
Reforestation: The act of replanting or seeding new trees in areas where forests have been cut down for timber.
