Population Demographics
Definition
Population demographics refer to statistical data relating to the population and particular groups within it such as age, gender, income level etc.
Analogy
Consider an ice cream shop with different flavors representing different demographic groups. Each scoop represents data about that group - vanilla might be women aged 18-24 while chocolate could represent men over 65.

Age Distribution: The proportionate numbers of persons in successive age categories in a given population.
Census: A complete count of a population, typically recording various details of individuals.
