Irredentism
Definition
A political principle or policy directed toward the incorporation of irredentas (territories historically or ethnically related to one political unit but under some other jurisdiction) within the boundaries of their historically or ethnically related political unit.
Analogy
It's like if you had a family heirloom at your cousin's house because they borrowed it for some time. Now you want it back because it originally belonged to your family and you feel it should be with you.
