Covid-19 Pandemic

Definition

The Covid-19 pandemic refers to the global outbreak of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). It has resulted in widespread illness, death, social disruptions, economic impacts, and efforts by governments worldwide to contain its spread.

Analogy

Think of a game of tag but with invisible tags that can pass between people without them knowing it. The Covid-19 virus jumps from person to person whenever they come into close contact with each other. Just like how you try your best not to be tagged during an intense game, we need precautions like masks and social distancing to avoid being 'tagged' by the virus.
