Definition

Brain drain refers to the emigration of highly trained or intelligent people from a particular country due to lack of opportunities or better prospects elsewhere.

Analogy

Picture brain drain like a leaking bucket full of water; if you have holes (opportunities abroad) in your bucket (country), you'll lose some water (talented individuals).
