The American Sub-Continent refers to North America (including Central America) and South America collectively. It is one of several large landmasses on Earth usually identified as continents.
Consider American Sub-Continent as one big supermarket. Each aisle represents different regions - North America being frozen foods section (due to colder climates), Central America being fresh produce (tropical climates), and South America being canned goods (diverse climates).
Plate Tectonics: A theory explaining the structure of the earth's crust involving large-scale movements resulting in features such as rift valleys, mountains etc.
Continental Drift Theory: The hypothesis that states that parts of Earth's crust slowly drift atop a liquid core causing continents' movement over geologic time scales.
