Definition

The Allied Powers refers to the coalition of countries, including France, Russia, the United Kingdom and later the United States and Italy, that fought against the Central Powers in World War I.

Analogy

Think of a school project where several students team up to work against another group. In this case, the Allied Powers are like one team working together to achieve their common goal - winning World War I.
