Definition

This refers to actions taken by legislative bodies such as Congress to create, amend, or repeal laws.

Analogy

Imagine legislative action as cooking a meal. The ingredients (bills) are gathered and mixed together (debated), then cooked (voted on), and finally served as a meal (becomes law).
