Drug use refers to the consumption of substances that alter one's mental or physical state. Drug policy encompasses laws and regulations regarding the manufacture, sale, possession, and use of these substances.
Imagine your body as an amusement park and drugs as different rides. Some rides can be fun but potentially dangerous if not used properly. The park's rules (drug policies) dictate which rides you're allowed on and how you should behave while on them.
Controlled Substances Act: A statute establishing federal U.S. drug policy under which the manufacture, importation, possession, use and distribution of certain substances is regulated.
War on Drugs: A government-led initiative aimed at stopping illegal drug use, distribution and trade by dramatically increasing prison sentences for both drug dealers and users.
