Direct action is a form of political activism which seeks immediate change by directly confronting or challenging existing power structures.

Analogy

Imagine direct action as a group of people standing in front of a bulldozer to prevent the destruction of a park. They're not just signing petitions or lobbying officials; they're physically intervening to protect what they care about.
