Definition

World War 1, also known as the Great War, was a global conflict that took place from 1914 to 1918. It involved many countries from various parts of the world and resulted in significant loss of life and extensive destruction.

Analogy

Think of a massive tug-of-war game with teams made up of people from different neighborhoods competing against each other. The game is intense, lasts for years, and causes widespread damage to the field (representing countries) where it takes place.
