Ninety-Five Theses

Definition

The Ninety-Five Theses were a list of statements written by Martin Luther criticizing various practices within the Catholic Church. They were posted on the door of All Saints' Church in Wittenberg, Germany in 1517.

Analogy

Imagine someone posting an open letter on social media pointing out all the flaws and injustices they see happening around them. In this case, Martin Luther used church doors instead of social media to share his grievances with society.
