Definition

Encryption is the process of converting plain text into a secret code to protect sensitive information from unauthorized access.

Analogy

Think of encryption as putting your message inside a locked box before sending it. Only the intended recipient with the key can unlock and read the message, keeping it safe from prying eyes.
