A solid solution is a solid-state mixture of two or more solids that are mixed at the atomic level.
Imagine an alloy like bronze, which is made by melting copper and tin together. When it cools down, you don't have separate chunks of copper and tin; instead, they're all mixed together uniformly on an atomic level - just like how ingredients mix together in cookie dough!
Alloy: A metal made by combining two or more metallic elements, especially to give greater strength or resistance to corrosion.
Phase Diagram: Graphical representation showing how phases behave with changes in temperature and pressure under equilibrium conditions.
Crystalline Solid: Solids that are composed of crystals, each having a distinct geometric shape.
