Radiant energy is the energy of electromagnetic waves. It's a form of kinetic energy and can take the form of visible light, radio waves, ultraviolet radiation, infrared radiation, or X-rays.
Think about how sunlight warms your skin on a sunny day. That warmth you feel is radiant energy being transferred from the sun to your skin.
Thermal Radiation: This is radiant heat energy emitted by all matter that has a temperature greater than absolute zero.
Solar Energy: Solar energy is radiant light and heat from the Sun that is harnessed using various technologies such as solar panels.
Radiation Therapy: A treatment method where high-energy radiation (a form of radiant energy) is used to shrink tumors and kill cancer cells.
