Mass percent is the mass of a component divided by the total mass of the mixture, multiplied by 100%.
Imagine you're baking cookies and you have 100g of ingredients in total. If 25g of that is sugar, then sugar makes up 25% of your cookie dough by mass.
Mole Fraction: This is the ratio of moles of one component to the total moles in the solution – like comparing how many chocolate chips there are compared to all other ingredients in our cookie dough.
Mass-Mass Solution: A type of solution where both solute and solvent are measured in terms of their mass – like weighing out all your cookie ingredients.
Percent Composition: The percentage by mass contributed by each element in a compound – like figuring out what percent of your cookies is made up from each ingredient.
