Definition

These are bacteria that produce their own food through photosynthesis, a process where light energy is converted into chemical energy.

Analogy

Think of photosynthetic bacteria as tiny solar panels. Just like solar panels convert sunlight into electricity, these bacteria convert sunlight into usable energy (food) for themselves.
