The nucleolus is a small dense spherical structure in the nucleus of a cell during interphase. It's involved in protein synthesis, and produces and assembles ribosome components.
Think of the nucleolus like a factory manager within the city (the cell). The manager's job is to oversee production (of ribosomes) and ensure everything runs smoothly.
Ribosomes: These are tiny organelles that play an important role in protein synthesis. They can be found floating freely in the cytoplasm or attached to the endoplasmic reticulum.
Nucleus: This is like the control center of a cell, containing most of its genetic material. It regulates all activities within the cell.
Interphase: This is part of the cell cycle where a cell prepares for division by replicating its DNA and other organelles.
