Nocturnal activity refers to the behavior of animals that are active during the night and sleep during the day.
Think of nocturnal activity like a night shift worker. While most people are sleeping, they're up and about, doing their job. When everyone else is awake during the day, they're catching up on sleep.
Crepuscular: Refers to animals that are primarily active during twilight, i.e., dawn and dusk.
Circadian Rhythm: The physical, mental, and behavioral changes in an organism that follow a roughly 24-hour cycle.
Hibernation: A state of inactivity and metabolic depression in endotherms (warm-blooded animals) characterized by lower body temperature, slower breathing, and lower metabolic rate.
