Gradualism

Definition

Gradualism is a theory in biology that suggests evolution occurs slowly and steadily over a long period of time, with small genetic changes accumulating to bring about large changes.

Analogy

Think of gradualism like filling up a swimming pool with a slow trickle of water. It might not seem like much is happening at first, but given enough time, the pool will eventually be full.
