Definition

An ecological niche refers to the role a species plays in its ecosystem, including its interactions with other organisms and its environment.

Analogy

Think of an ecological niche as a job in a company. Just like how each employee has specific tasks and interacts differently with others, every species has unique roles and relationships within their ecosystem.
