The concentration of glucose present in the blood. It is usually measured in milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL).
Think of your body as a car engine and glucose as the fuel. Just like how an engine needs the right amount of fuel to run smoothly, your body also needs the right level of glucose to function properly.
Glycemia: The presence of glucose in the blood.
Hyperglycemia: A condition where there is an excessively high level of glucose in the blood.
Hypoglycemia: A condition where there is an abnormally low level of glucose in the blood.
