Yayoi culture

Definition

Yayoi culture refers to an ancient Japanese civilization that emerged around 300 BCE and lasted until around 250 CE. It is named after the Yayoi district in Tokyo where archaeological evidence of this culture was first discovered. The Yayoi period saw significant advancements in agriculture, pottery-making, and social organization.
