Transversus abdominis

Definition

The transversus abdominis is a muscle located on the lateral sides of the abdominal wall, beneath the internal oblique muscle. It acts to compress the abdominal contents, playing a crucial role in maintaining abdominal pressure and stabilizing the spine.
