Smooth muscle

Definition

Smooth muscle is a type of involuntary muscle tissue that is found in the walls of internal organs such as the stomach, intestines, and blood vessels. Unlike skeletal muscle, smooth muscle fibers are spindle-shaped and do not have striations.
