Quadratus lumborum

Definition

The quadratus lumborum is a deep muscle in the lower back, situated on either side of the lumbar spine, connecting the iliac crest to the lower ribs and vertebral column. It aids in stabilizing the pelvis and spine, especially during movement or lifting.
