Definition

The pulmonary plexus is a network of nerve fibers located at the root of the lungs, involved in the autonomic regulation of respiratory functions. It comprises both sympathetic and parasympathetic nerves that control bronchoconstriction, vasodilation, and mucous secretion within the lungs.
