Definition

Occipital sinuses are venous channels found along the margins of the foramen magnum at the base of the skull, which drain blood from the internal vertebral plexus to the confluence of sinuses. These structures are part of the cranial venous sinuses that facilitate blood circulation from the brain back to the heart.
