Interventricular septum

Definition

The interventricular septum is a thick wall dividing the left and right ventricles of the heart, preventing the mixing of oxygen-rich and oxygen-poor blood. It consists of an upper membranous part and a lower muscular part, playing a crucial role in the heart's function.
