Definition

The glenoid labrum is a fibrocartilaginous rim attached around the margin of the glenoid cavity in the shoulder joint, which deepens the cavity and helps stabilize the joint. It acts as a "bumper" that cushions the head of the humerus and allows for a wider range of motion.
