Definition
The flexor digitorum superficialis is a muscle in the forearm that flexes the fingers at the proximal interphalangeal joints. It acts primarily on the middle phalanges of the four fingers excluding the thumb.
Tendons are tough, flexible bands of fibrous tissue that connect muscles to bones, facilitating movement.
Proximal Interphalangeal Joints (PIP): These are the joints in the fingers located between the first (proximal) and second (middle) phalanges, allowing bending of the finger.
