Definition

Gastrin is a hormone produced by the stomach that stimulates the secretion of gastric acid (HCl) by the parietal cells of the stomach and aids in gastric motility. It plays a critical role in the digestive process by preparing the stomach to digest and absorb nutrients effectively.
