How did the role of NATO change after the end of the Cold War?
NATO became an offensive force attacking former communist countries.
Its focus changed from preventing nuclear warfare to promoting communism worldwide.
NATO disbanded following USSR's disintegration as its purpose ceased to exist.
It shifted from being a primarily defensive alliance against USSR to tackling regional conflicts & terrorism globally.
