Gross Domestic Product (GDP):A measure of the total economic output of a country, often used as a proxy for the standard of living, but which has limitations in capturing the full scope of societal well-being.
Human Development Index (HDI):A composite index that measures a country's average achievement in three basic dimensions of human development: a long and healthy life, access to knowledge, and a decent standard of living.
Genuine Progress Indicator (GPI): An alternative measure of economic progress that adjusts GDP by subtracting the costs of environmental degradation and social issues while adding the value of unpaid work and other factors that contribute to well-being.
