Ring-flip (cyclohexane)

Definition

A ring-flip in cyclohexane is the process by which this molecule interconverts between its two chair conformations, flipping to invert all axial positions into equatorial positions, and vice versa. This transformation allows cyclohexane to relieve strain and achieve a more stable conformation.
