Decoloniality refers to the process of undoing the legacy and impacts of colonialism in social, cultural, and political contexts. It involves rethinking and reclaiming identities, knowledge systems, and histories that have been marginalized or erased due to colonial domination. In relation to Chicanx and Latinx identities, decoloniality encourages a critical examination of how colonial power structures continue to influence contemporary experiences and the importance of affirming cultural autonomy.
