The SA, or Sturmabteilung, was a paramilitary organization associated with the Nazi Party in Germany that played a critical role during the rise of Adolf Hitler. Established in the early 1920s, the SA functioned as the party's enforcers, intimidating political opponents and providing protection for party events. As the Nazis gained power, the SA's influence grew, but internal conflicts and competition with other factions eventually led to its decline and disbandment.
